3pm. Beat Literature Conference. Scholarly examination of Beat literature. O'Leary Lecture Hall, University of Massachusetts Lowell.

4pm. Lowell Blues. Visual poem shot by film maker Henry Ferrini, featuring sections of Kerouac's book, Dr. Sax. Lowell National Historical Park Viistor Center, Market St.

8pm. Olympian Kerouac. A look at Jack's scholarly and athletic life and the influence of Greek friends and family. Athenian Corner, 207 Market St.

9:30am. Barbara Concannon-Crete High School Poetry Award competition. Students read original work, judged on content and presentation. Lowell High School, 50 French St.

10am. Beat Literature Conference. Keynote speaker: Matt Theado. O'Leary Lecture Hall, University of Massachusetts Lowell.

4pm. Lowell Blues. Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center, Market St.

7:30pm. Tribute to Woody Guthrie with Echoes of Kerouac. An evening with Steve Edington and musician. Dan Murphy, Kathy Grossman, and Harry Purkhiser provide an aural tour of the life and times of American folk composer Woody Guthrie, highlighted by Guthrie songs. Including Dave Norton and The City Council. Life Alive, 194 Middle St.

11am. Commemorative at The Commemorative. Join LCK! members and friends for an acknowledgement of Jack Kerouac's life and work. Special readings from Kerouac's "October in the Railroad Earth." Kerouac Park, Bridge St.

1pm. Kerouac's Nashua Connection. Guided van tour of Kerouac family sites in nearby nashua, New Hampshire.

1:30pm. Cairo to Kerouac. David Amram and friends in a musical tour of Jack's scene and th eworld seen through David Amram's ears. Pollard Memorial Library, Merrimack St.

4pm. A special reading with David Amram and guests at Ricardo's, featuring Jack's letters to family. Kicks off Mike Wurm's tour of Kerouac's Lowell wining and dining establishments. Ricardo's Cafe Trattoria, 110 Gorham St.

4pm. Lowell Blues. Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center, Market St.

7:30pm. Ghosts of the Pawtucketville Night. An evening of Kerouac places with Doctor Sax guided by Roger Brunelle.
